Before you put money down on that new house you'll want to know about the CCRs for the neighborhood? Don't know what a CCR is? if you don't you'll be in trouble even before you know there's trouble.

CCRs are known as covenants, conditions and restrictions. Basically, these are the rules of the neighborhood. CCRs can vary greatly and they often include such things a acceptable paint colors, lawn maintenance and exterior maintenance. The Homeowners Association can fine and in some cases even sue you in court for non-compliance.

Before you buy get a copy of the CCRs and make sure you agree with them. If some of the terms are objectionable you just might want to find yourself another house.
